About

MJ Chambers

Hi, I'm MJ.

Writer.
Photographer.
Storyteller.

Say hello

I'm Central Oregon born and raised. Last year, I said goodbye to my family, friends, and hometown to travel around 3,000 miles to Tennessee. Now, I call Spring Hill, Tennessee, my new home.

I've always been drawn to storytelling. Whether through writing, photography, social media marketing, or design, I've spent the last several years sharpening my skills in such. Each form of creativity has taught me something different, but writing is the home that I always return to — the place where my ideas linger, reflections deepen, and stories can be told in full account.

The Chambers Edit was born from that desire.

In a world built around snappy captions, capturing content, and fleeting moments, I wanted to create something slower. A place where I could take my writing seriously, and publicly, documenting much of my life that is still very much unfolding.

You'll find travel stories alongside personal testimonies, reflections on life next to conversations about faith, home, fashion, photography, and the beauty found in everyday life. Some posts will be practical, some deeply personal, but all of them are written with the hope that they'll leave you encouraged, inspired, or simply less alone. I believe that sometimes stories are written in the small, mundane moments; quiet mornings, meaningful conversations, and unexpected detours (perhaps literally or figuratively). The small moments can guide us to a peak, whether that be a high or a low destination in your journey. All these stories are meant to be told.

Thank you for being here. No matter what you've stopped here for, I'm grateful you've found your way here.

What I believe about writing

01

Intentionality Over Speed

Valuing reflection over reaction in a mass production content culture.

02

The Ordinary Is Worth Noticing

There is beauty in the simplicity, and every moment we should slow down and soak up the time we are given.

03

Stories Create Connection

Personal testimonies, fictional accounts, news, and more can connect with you on a deep level.

04

Writing Is an Art of Discovery

I don't know all the answers, but I'd like to invite you into the story so we can watch it unfold together.

“There is freedom waiting for you, on the breezes of the sky, and you ask ‘What if I fall?’ Oh but my darling, what if you fly?”

— Erin Hanson

Writing philosophy

I believe stories deserve more than a passing glance. In a world that tends to reward speed, I want to write slowly. Another way to put it would be intentionally. To find beauty in the ordinary, and not solely find it, but enjoy it.

I don't write because life is perfectly curated; I write because it isn't. We are imperfect, but there's such an authenticity in that. Because every story, every conversation, every place, every season, leaves behind something that's worth remembering. A story that's just waiting to be told.
